Rail-roading Transpetrol: Regional changes in taxation and production capacities are forcing Transpetrol to alter its distribution trends
31st January, 2007
Germany headquartered rail freight transportation company Transpetrol is one of the major Europeanplayers in the biofuels industry. Although at the moment it largely focuses on biodiesel
and bioethanol, the company expects to be transporting increasingly more feedstock like rapeseed oil and palm oil over the next few years.
Presently, the company distributes 250,000 tonnes of biodiesel a year and 40,000 tonnes of bioethanol. However, Manfred Henneberg, head of the freight management department at
Transpetrol expects this balance to change throughout 2008-2009.
